IT and Media

Cinecuts

  • This category comprises a video editing marathon.

  • Pre-shot clips will be provided by the management on the event day to be used in the edit.

  • Stock videos and templates are not allowed.

  • The theme for editing will be announced on the event day.

  • Participants will have 2 hours to produce a 3 to 5-minute final video.

  • The judge’s decision will be final and cannot be challenged.

Polaroid Frames

  • This category tests your photography skills.

  • Participants will produce “on-campus photographs” in two genres: retro 90s and black-and-white dark aesthetic.

  • Only color grading is allowed; no other edits.

  • Raw files must be submitted along with the final product.

  • The judge’s decision will be final and cannot be challenged.

Box Office Bangers

  • This category tests your videography and storytelling skills.

  • Participants will create a trailer between 1 minute 30 seconds to 2 minutes 30 seconds.

  • Participants will choose from three director styles: Christopher Nolan, Todd Phillips, or Imtiaz Ali.

  • The trailer must be shot prior to the event, and only submissions are required.

  • The judge’s decision will be final and cannot be challenged.

Retropreneur Challenge

  • The Retropreneur Challenge is a business simulation activity that immerses participants in the entrepreneurial and corporate environments of the 1980s and 1990s.

  • Teams will apply their knowledge of marketing, budgeting, negotiation, and problem-solving in a retro-themed context.

  • Engaging rounds include creating marketing campaigns, managing inventory, negotiating deals, and tackling crises.

  • Participants will develop strategic thinking, teamwork, and creativity, all while navigating classic business scenarios of the pre-digital era.

Techno Genesis

  • The STEM category at MISAAL XI features thrilling and fun-packed rounds.

  • Maths, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology come together in unexpected and exciting ways.

  • This is where knowledge meets excitement, and participants’ problem-solving and teamwork skills will be tested.
